SUBMISSIONS

Housecore™ Horror Film Festival is no longer using Withoutabox for Film Submissions. We have decided to not charge filmmakers to submit their films this year. SO IT’S FREE!!

We will accept film submissions until September 15, 2014.

FILM SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!!!

WE WILL BEGIN ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR 2015 AS SOON AS HHFF 2014 IS OVER AND WE HAVE RECOVERED!!!

To submit your film this year, simply e-mail HHFF Director and Lead Programmer, Corey Mitchell, at corey@housecorehorrorfilmfestival.com.

In the subject line of your e-mail you must include the following:

-Name Of Film; Run Time; Director; Genre; Length Category

An example would be –

Philip’s Horror House (81 min.) d. Corey Mitchell – Horror Feature

Films must fall under the following categories:

-Horror (any and all types of horror are welcome)
-Thriller
-Suspense
-Based on True Crime
-Experimental
-Cult
-Midnight Movie
-Bizarre
-Heavy Metal-related
-Animation

In the body of your e-mail please include an online link to your film and a password (if needed). We prefer not having to jump through hoops, so please do it this way.

If we select your film for the festival, you will need to be able to provide a Blu-ray (2), DVD (2), or a 35mm reel. We have elected to not use any type of digital storage gadgets or DCP or online links or Dropboxes, etc. this year. Too unreliable. If you cannot send us the proper format, then don’t send us the link because we will not screen your film!!

Also in your e-mail please include the same above information — Name Of Film; Run Time; Director; Genre; Length Category — as well as your name, where you are from, and your best contact information including e-mail and phone numbers.

We will make final notifications of acceptance or rejection by September 30, 2014.

GENERAL RULES

ALL DEADLINES ARE RECEIVED BY DEADLINES. All materials must be received by the deadline listed, not postmarked by that date.

Selection:
• HHFF 2014 films will be selected by the festival programmers. All selections will be posted on our site by the end of September 2014.
• ALL films submitted to the festival are seen and scored by at least two different programmers. All films that have a higher average, or are a favorite of a programmer, go on to final deliberations. HHFF selects its films by majority vote.
• Film Submissions are non-returnable. Please do not send original materials.
• If a film is accepted, entrants will be solely responsible for delivering their exhibition video materials to and from the festival venue. Complete press kits will be needed as soon after notification as possible. HHFF cannot be held liable for your exhibition print/video materials which are lost or damaged.
• If your film wins either a Grand Jury or Audience award, you are required to mention that fact in posters and other promotional material if and when the film gets distribution.
• Please note festival dates are subject to change.
• Unfortunately, HHFF does not provide room, board or travel for filmmakers, so we suggest bringing an air mattress and a blanket.
